John Paul II Route Tour

auschwitz tour Our tour begins in Wadowice, a town in southern Poland, situated on the Skawa river, 50km south of Krakow. The history of the town dates back to the 13th century. On the 18th of May 1920 in a house on Church Street, number 7, Karol Wojtyła was born, who later became the Holy Father, John Paul the II. In the town You can visit the Family home of John Paul the II and a town museum which has also an exhibition about the life of the polish pope. On the return journey to Krakow we stop at the Kalwaria Zebrzydowska Sancturay, one of the most frequently visited pilgrimage centres of Poland, present at the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Over a million pilgrims visit this devotional complex every year. And one frequent pilgrim proved very special – Pope John Paul II. Then we travel to the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki. You can pay tribute to the holly relics of St. Faustyna Kowalska, who was canonised as by John Paul II, and admire the impressive modern basilica consecrated by the Pope in 2002.
