What to Expect? Day Itinerary
Morning pickup from your Krakow hotel
We’ll collect you from your hotel in Krakow in a modern, comfortable Mercedes – the drive to the mountains takes about 2 hours, depending on traffic, with an English-speaking guide accompanying you all day and answering any questions you may have.
One-hour guided quad ride
After a briefing and a few practice minutes with the instructor, you’ll follow your guide across genuinely mixed terrain: open fields, forest tracks, muddy sections after rain and short stretches of quiet public road connecting the off-road parts – which is why a driving licence is required. The quads are automatic, so there’s no clutch or gears to think about; if you can drive a car, you’ll be comfortable within minutes. Riding as a pair? You can swap drivers mid-route, as long as you both hold a valid licence.
Highlander bonfire with local food
Refuel at a traditional bonfire: grilled sausage, oscypek smoked cheese, hot drinks and Polish mulled wine (grzane wino). After a hearty meal set among the unforgettable countryside scenery, you’ll be ready for the next step of our tour.
Three hours in the thermal baths
A 3-hour ticket to the thermal baths – Chochołów Thermal Baths or Terma Bania, depending on where you ride that day – is included. Outdoor mineral pools with scenic mountain views are exactly what your muscles will want after an hour of adventurous off-road riding. Bring a swimsuit, flip-flops and a towel.
Return to Krakow
Your quad biking adventure ends with door-to-door drop-off back at your Krakow hotel – around 10 hours after pickup.
Quad Biking Adventure Near Krakow – Why Zakopane Is Worth the Drive?
Looking for quad biking in Krakow? There are a few local tracks around the city, but the real riding is in the mountains. Two hours south, the terrain around Zakopane offers what a paddock can’t: open highland fields, forest climbs and the Tatras on the horizon – plus the bonfire and thermal baths that turn an exciting ride into a full day out. With hotel pickup included, it’s the easiest way to go quad biking from Krakow without organising a thing.
Price & Ride Fee
The tour price covers transport from Krakow, your guide, the bonfire with food and drinks and the 3-hour thermal baths ticket. The quad ride fee is not included – it’s paid separately on site, in cash only, and is non-refundable. Current prices: tour from 89 EUR per person; ride fee 350 PLN per quad – charged per vehicle, so a driver-and-passenger pair pays it once. Already in Zakopane? A ticket-only option without Krakow transport is available in the booking calendar. You’ll see the full breakdown in the booking summary before you confirm.
Do I Need a Licence to Ride a Quad?
Yes – drivers need a valid category B driving licence, verified on the day, because part of the route uses public roads. Passengers don’t need any documents or quad biking experience. If you’re travelling without a licence, our Zakopane snowmobile tour is the winter alternative that requires only photo ID.
Riding Together, Passengers & Children
- Two on one quad: yes – the quads are two-seaters, and two licence-holders can swap behind the handlebars mid-route.
- Children: minors join as passengers only. There’s no formal minimum age, but we recommend passengers are around 10 or older so they can hold on securely. Adults in the group are responsible for supervising children who aren’t currently riding.
Weather – We Ride Rain or Shine
The tour runs in all weather conditions – only genuinely extreme events (think natural disasters, not drizzle) stop the ride. Rain just makes the trails muddier, and that’s half the fun: in wet or muddy conditions you’ll get disposable coveralls at the base, so your own clothes survive the day. In snowy conditions, the tour switches to snowmobiles – see below.
Quad or Snowmobile?
Same region, different seasons, different rules. When snow covers the trails – typically December to February – the tour runs on snowmobiles: closed off-road trails, no driving licence needed, ride fee 400 PLN per vehicle. The rest of the year it’s quads: mixed terrain including public-road sections, category B licence required, ride fee 350 PLN per vehicle. The local operator decides whether you’ll be riding snowmobiles or quad bikes on a given day. Either way, the bonfire and thermal baths are part of the day.
